To me, after that pivot from Empire to Jedi, Boba Fett was a bad joke. And because of it I never followed any of the now disavowed EU canon. And his bland yet awkward origin from Attack did nothing to improve that standing.

What the Boba Fett character needed was a redemption story, and to me that’s what Book is.

His fabulous past reputation is now irrelevant at best, if not a hindrance. His current reputation is that he’s dead. His bounty hunting days are over. He is past his prime. He will probably spend the rest of his life recovering from unspeakably horrible injuries. And all he’s just looking for is a settle up dodge to ride out the rest of his life with relative security, comfort and dignity.

So he’s an underdog. It’s a redemption story!

Sure, some fans might have wanted a BF in his prime pre-Empire look at the character, and this certainly isn’t that.

But that stuff has already been done elsewhere. You can’t legitimately say that this isn’t a valid approach.

The "Boba Fett" in his prime stories? They've already been done. If not in the EU (and I know there's good reasons to both seek them out and to NOT seek them out), but in "The Mandalorian." That's Boba Fett with the serial numbers filed off (well, more like marked through with a Sharpie). I think that's the other reason why we're getting a different Fett story right now...and I'm okay with it!

Frankly, my one complaint (and I mean it…we are really enjoying the show) is that he barely bothers to wear the helmet anymore. No offense to Morrison, but I’d much rather he wear that helmet more.

It IS the coolest costume in the series, in my opinion. I love that helmet design. And I loved the gunfighter postures that Bulloch did in Empire. When Leia in disguise gets the nod from Fett in Jedi, it’s just…you can’t undervalue the implications of that gesture. That costume does most of the work. I agree we should see it more.

I stopped after episode 2. The cycles of episode 3 just seemed stupid. I will trust you to travel the wasteland of The Book of Bobba Fett and let us know there if the journey is worth it. You serve the greater in this regard.

The series feels like they decided to kill the budget because people were going to watch it no matter what. He is a mob boss with no mob. They could have hired the best screenwriters in the business and it feels like they sifted through bad fan fic.

How I would have done it.....Bobba is getting old and slow and decides that it is a younger man's game. He travels to Tatooine and we see him murder Bib Fortuna and take over the organization. From the treat him like I image they will do with the Ten Rings going forward...a gang that is both a mixture of good and bad. Give him a dose of Reddington from The Black List and play that angle.

You’re not wrong about the first four episodes. And if there’s one thing I don’t like about the show, it’s the way we’ve been jumping back and forth between flashbacks and present day. It’s not uniform and seems tacked on. I think the next four episodes will be what we all wanted out of the gate: Boba doing Boba shit, and kicking all the ass. I wish there had been a better way to do the back story without being clever. Oh, wait, I know: just show it in chronological order!
