It was great briefly seeing you. While it was a free conference, registration was a thing I did not do, so they only let me in to say "Hiya" before it got hopping. Next year, though...I should probably pitch a workshop about podcasting fiction. (Ya know, since I've been doing that more than a decade and live about a mile and a half from the library!)
What, the movie? As I said, it delivered exactly what the trailer promised: a Marvel movie set in Santaland. I haven't seen any reviews, but I wouldn't trust them on this one, because who knows what's in their hearts? There's a nice message in the movie, after everything is punched. (shrug) I call 'em like I see 'em. It ain't Casablanca, and I'm okay with that.
I still maintain Red One was inspired by "The Night the Reindeer Died" with Lee Majors as the 6 Million Dollar Man, from the movie "Scrooged." I'm STILL waiting for that one (I'll pass on "Robert Goulet's Christmas in the Bayou").
I'm headed for the exits on Twitter as well. I hate to leave--it's given me a lot-- but it's clear that those days are behind us. I'm hopeful BlueSky sticks too; not just 'cause I hate rubbing elbows with bots and Temu ads, but also 'cause I just want a place to go and "connect." Also nice that they don't throttle links to our work!
I love that the buzz is starting around what a grievous place "the Interwebs" have become and I am hopeful that some altruistic hackers or civic-minded hackerz take it upon themselves to liberate social media from its big tech overlords. Viva la Revolution!
Say, you don't have "London Calling" on your playlist, by chance? I fear I'm morphing from "aging hipster" to "creepy old punk," you know the guy at the bus stop that thrusts his chest out and says "Whut!?" every time someone looks askance at his vintage FEAR shirt. I'm becoming increasingly comfortable being that guy.

Yes, you really should! If you decide to throw your hat in the ring, let me know so I can tell them to pay attention to you.
It was great seeing you too, however briefly!
One star or less from all reviews I have read. Til now. May have to pass.

You and me both, brother. You and me both.

I love London Calling! Know Your Rights has been getting played a lot this week.
