I'm glad Sonya is feeling better. I worry about all of my dogs, cats, and rabbits and have three personality supporting a crew of veterinarians. But they will forever be with it.
Glad Sonja is going to be OK but it sounded like a very stressful experience.
And at least your pit bull, unlike my redhead not-so-fearsome warrior Agnes, doesn't have to go through the shame of losing a fight to a squirrel. I'm amazed Agnes shows her face in public.
Glad to hear she's on the road to recovery and hope you have quite a few more years with her yet. Our old lab., who have a similar life expectancy , was only a month off 16 when we finally had to say goodbye.
Yes Corey surprised us during the last couple of years , he'd be doddery at times then running around like a young 'un . As it neared the end though his back legs gradually began to give way so we knew it was time. Didn't think we'd get another so quick but the house felt empty so Barney and a bit later Logan have helped fill the gap.
That scene at the Waco vet is exactly why I put my family off of getting a dog for ~a year. I never want to go through that again, and I know it's inevitable. Of course I lost, and our dog is sitting next to me as I type this. "To love is to live" and all that, I 'spose.
Either way, I'm glad Sonya's on the mend and ready to again visit the Thunderdome that is I-35W (have I ever mentioned how happy I am to not have to drive in traffic?).
I plead total isolation and the timesuck of running both a publishing company and a social media site for aggregating news you likely won’t see unless you go looking for it.
I'm thinking about it—maybe popping in on Saturday for a while. We just moved, though, and unpacking is taking forever because I do NOT want to have to move stuff much once it's in place.

I want her to be fully active until the day she is ready to go. Not sure I will get that, but it would be nice.

Love and hugs to three of you. I wish it didn't take stuff like this to ind a family. But it often does.❤️🔥
Me, too.

I miss living in a city where I have public transportation options. I got so much reading done on busses and trains.
And dogs are the best. I think having one in your life far outweighs the difficulty of having to let one go. Some of my favorite stories involve dogs.
How did I not know you were on Substack? Ah, well better a late subscriber than none, eh?
But yes, I am glad you found me!

I'm starting to miss isolation. Speaking of which, will you be at 'DilloCon this year?

I’m kind of a big deal, Liz. I thought you knew this.
