We crossed paths, then, as I was also at FenCon. Always nice to see friends. There were several teens/20-somethings in attendance, don’t know how many panels they will have attended, as my son is always busy with tech there.
I stopped watching SNL regularly several years ago, mainly catching the opening or Weekend Update off youtube sometimes now.. I was in high school when it premiered. Many people look back on the original Not Ready players as a highpoint, but I can tell you for a fact the last couple of years with the original cast was pretty lousy. However, the one post-Lorne season run by Jane Doumanian was probably worse. Dick Ebersol coming in ramped things up again. I think their best years were the ones with Phil Hartman, Eddie Murphy, and Jon Lovitz.
That was certainly a sweet spot. Those were the years were I started to get more of the jokes. These days, it's not must-watch TV anymore; the Internet decides for us what's viral and what isn't. But there are some weeks these days where I just want to check out over the weekend, and that show is a pleasant distraction, if nothing else.

I remember! I’m always happy to see newcomer to the cons that are under the age of 50! I would like to see those age ranges even out more.
Oh, geez. The Fencon commentary was extremely telling. Thank you.
Always a pleasure reading your updates since Martin hipped me to them. Keep up the great work you're making my life better.
Thanks, buddy, that made my day!
