The Bunker Emergency/Crisis Level is currently on green, thanks to a generous application of antibiotics, fluids, zinc, Vitamin C, and dare I say it, a little Christmas cheer, which showed up with only three days to spare—easily the closest call in recent memory. The Bunker Staff, mascot included, are seeking refuge from the Icepocalypse and the Great North Texas Dr. Pepper Shortage of 2022 (thanks a lot, Abbott!) in Central Texas, where it’s only slightly less bite-ass cold.
Since everyone is still grappling with the holidays, we’ll do the rest of the update in bullets.
Mom is on the mend. She’s out of surgery, it was successful, and upon speaking briefly with her today, she informed me she looks “like a borg,” which means her sense of humor is coming back, too. Thanks to everyone who spared a minute for her on Thursday. It was noticed and much appreciated.
I am finishing this year in a deficit, behind on two projects and about to tackle two more, because evidently, I can’t say no and there’s something seriously wrong with me. I’ll be outlining the calendar for 2023 and folks, it’s already full, I kid you not.
The results of my Colon Box of Shame are in. However, in order to view them, I’ve got to create a profile and do a thing and click a box and type in some stuff and I just don’t have it in me right now. Thankfully they also sent the results to my NP so if it’s something horrible I have every confidence she’ll call me, wanting to set an appointment so she can draw more blood. I know how they work.
We’ll speak again after Boxing Day. Please accept all of our best wishes to you and yours during this extended and very cold holiday weekend. If you’re traveling, stay safe. If you’re holed up, stay warm. And if you need to, reach out, phone someone, IM, text message, anything you can touch base, laugh a bit and maybe find some comfort. All of our love from me, Janice, and Sonya. Thanks for your kind attention. Here are some assorted Christmas pics. Enjoy!
All the best to you from this side of the pond. Keep well and warm if the bad weather hits you.
Merry Christmas to you, Janice, and Sonya!
